Formaldehyde and Ammonia-containing dye
Formaldehyde
Various shade fabrics often undergo anti-shrinkage, anti-scalding, anti-wrinkle and color fixing treatments during dyeing and finishing. Generally, cross-linking reactions are required, and formaldehyde is a widely used cross-linking agent.
Due to the incompleteness of cross-linking, formaldehyde that did not participate in the cross-linking reaction or formaldehyde produced by hydrolysis will be released from the sunshade fabric, which will cause strong irritation to the respiratory tract mucosa, skin and eyes, causing inflammation, even inducing allergy and cancer.
China’s national standard GB1804 stipulates that the allowable formaldehyde content per kilogram of shade fabrics must not exceed 300mg.
The indicators and requirements of different countries and regions are not far from the standards.
Ammonia-containing dye
Ammonia-containing dye is a group name of a group of aminobenzene synthetic dyes, and it is also used in shade fabrics.
Some ammonia-containing dyes can be separated under certain circumstances to produce carcinogenic and sensitizing aromatic amines.
In addition, some disperse dyes can also cause allergic reactions.
If these sensitizing and carcinogenic dyes are in contact with the skin for a long time, they will be absorbed by the body, causing allergies to the skin, mucous membranes or respiratory tract, and causing tumors or cancers.
Oeko-Tex Standard100 and China’s technical requirements for ecological textiles GB / T1885 stipulate that 20-22 kinds of allergenic dyes are restricted, and the qualified limit value is 50mg / kg. The European Commission ’s eco-label for textiles is prohibited from sale and use 9 carcinogenic dyes.
